Stone Valley Golf Resort

My Solo Round at Stone Valley Golf Resort, Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳

From Airport to FairwaY

I landed in Hanoi and headed straight to the course.

Stone Valley Golf Resort had arranged a car transfer for me from the airport, and honestly, I was thankful for that more than I expected. After a flight, not having to think about logistics made all the difference. I settled into the back seat and watched Hanoi slowly fade into countryside.

The drive out was quiet. Buildings thinned, traffic eased, and limestone hills began to rise around us. By the time we arrived, it felt like I’d left the city far behind, even though it was just a drive away.

Absolutely stunning ❤️

So in awe of the beauty

Arrival at Stone Valley was smooth and unhurried. Registration was efficient, the staff calm and welcoming. I headed straight to the locker room, got changed, and within minutes I was on my way to the course. No chaos, no rushing, just a seamless transition from travel mode to golf mode.

The 🇻🇳 Hospitality

My caddy was friendly, attentive, and constantly hyping me up. Every solid strike got encouragement, every miss was brushed off with encouragement and a “next shot better.” Playing solo can sometimes feel quiet in the wrong way, but here it felt supportive and light. It made a real difference to my confidence and rhythm. I treated this round of golf as a practice round. 😆😝

Best of both worlds

Stone Valley itself is demanding but fair. The terrain is bold, with elevation changes that force you to think through every shot. No joke, the terrain height is very hilly. The fairways reward good positioning, and the greens demand commitment. The pars are long, and the fairway is wide to compensate for it. (but I still shank sometimes anyway😆🫣)

What stayed with me most was the scenery and its course features. Limestone cliffs frame many of the holes, creating a sense of scale that makes you slow down without realising it. I guess that was why they’re called Stone Valley too. There were moments when I stopped thinking about score entirely and just took in where I was. Besides the natural limestone feature, I noticed their natural waterfall as well.

The last few holes felt more intense, visually and mentally, where the signature hole is at.

After the round, I explored the facilities. The pro shop was well stocked, the locker rooms spacious and clean, and the newly renovated showers were exactly what you want after your round. There are also meeting and lounge spaces, making it suitable for both leisure golfers and corporate groups.

The drive back to Hanoi was quiet but peaceful. I replayed the experience I had and its breathtaking sceneries and felt genuinely content, one which made me feel real alive.

From airport pickup to city drop-off, the entire day felt intentional and well taken care of. Stone Valley may not be about flashy luxury or global rankings. But if you value strong course design, dramatic natural scenery, and a calm, well-run golf experience, this is a course that stays with you.

Some rounds you play.
Some rounds you feel.
Stone Valley was the second.

My take on this

My personal review:

⛳ Scenic, challenging, long pars, but fair
👟 Friendly, supportive caddy (tips ~RM80-100)
💰 Price varies by day
📍 About 1.5 hours from Hanoi or the airport
🏢 Café, bath, locker, lounge, proshop, atm

For transparency, I paid around RM500 total, including transport, green fee, caddy tip, and food, which I felt was great value.

Will I come back? Definitely.
