Aquella Golf & Country Club
A Hidden Coastal Gem in Khao Lak
Golfing by the andaman Sea
Some golf courses impress you with difficulty.
Some impress you with scenery.
And then there are courses like Aquella Golf & Country Club, where the entire experience feels like a quiet luxury escape.
This trip started with me researching golf courses around Phuket and Khao Lak since my stay is in Khao Lak, I wanted something different from the usual mountain or city-style layouts, something more open, coastal, and peaceful. That’s when I came across Aquella, and immediately, the photos of the signature holes along the Andaman Sea caught my attention.
Stuning entrance ❤️
Andaman sea breeze
The course is located in Khao Lak, around an hour north of Phuket Airport. It’s more secluded compared to the busier golf destinations, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. The drive there slowly shifts from tourist-heavy roads into calmer stretches of greenery and coastline, setting the tone for the entire experience.
What makes Aquella unique is how naturally the course blends with its surroundings. You don’t just see the ocean from a distance, you actually feel connected to it throughout the round. The sea breeze follows you from hole to hole, and the sound of the waves becomes part of the game. 🌊🍃⛳
The ⭐ Hole
The signature holes by the Andaman Sea are easily the highlight. Wide ocean views, soft golden light, and fairways running alongside the coastline made it feel more like a luxury coastal retreat than a golf course. I actually found myself pausing a few times just to take everything in.
Course-wise, Aquella is enjoyable for a wide range of golfers. The fairways are generous in many areas, which makes the round feel less intimidating, but there’s still enough strategy and elevation changes to keep things interesting. The bunkering is well placed, and the coastal wind can completely change how you approach certain shots.
A 5⭐ Golf Resort
One thing I appreciated most was the overall pace and atmosphere. Unlike some crowded golf destinations, Aquella felt calm and spacious. Nothing felt rushed. It was one of those rounds where you naturally slow down and enjoy the experience beyond just the scorecard.
The facilities also deserve mention. The clubhouse has a modern tropical design that feels premium without trying too hard. Spacious locker rooms, clean showers, dining areas overlooking the course, and relaxing lounge spaces all add to the experience. Everything felt thoughtfully designed for comfort after a long round under the sun.
And of course, Thai hospitality always stands out. The staff and caddies were warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout the day, which made the experience feel even more memorable.
My caddy picked it for me 🌺

If Stone Valley feels dramatic and grounding, Aquella feels calming and freeing.
One is surrounded by limestone mountains.
The other opens up endlessly toward the sea.
And honestly?
That contrast is what makes golf travel so special.
Would I come back to Aquella?
Absolutely — especially for those sunset holes by the Andaman Sea. They’re the kind of views that stay in your memory long after the round is over.
My take on this
My personal review:
⛳ Scenic, Relaxing, beginner friendly
👟 Friendly, supportive caddy (tips ~THB500 – 1,000)
💰 starting THB3,800/pax
📍 About 45 minutes from Phuket Int airport
🏢 Golfer’s Terrace, Resort shower and locker room, lounge, proshop, gym, yoga, garden, villa, driving range
For transparency, I paid around THB3,800/pax and another THB1,200 for food and drinks, including green fee, caddy tip, and food, which I felt was great value for a five star golf resort.
Will I come back? Definitely.
